Prior to joining Fulbright & Jaworski's Houston office, Peterman was a partner at Locke, Liddell & Sapp LLP in its Corporate and Securities Section and the Technology and Commercial Transactions Section.

In addition to Peterman's legal practice, he also worked as president and chief operating officer, as well as general counsel, for BBCN, a business-to-business, Web-based marketplace for the automotive retail industry.

Before his role at BBCN, Peterman was with the Houston office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP. At the firm, he served on the Mergers and Acquisitions Committee, the Retirement Plan Committee, the Houston Hiring Committee from 1990-1999, as well as being the Houston hiring partner.

"We are delighted to welcome David to our Houston team. Through David's diverse experience, he adds to the firm not only his tremendous legal knowledge but also the perspective from the business world, having served as president and COO of BBCN," said Michael Conlon, co-leader of the firm's Corporate Department.

In addition to his many speeches, Peterman is a member of the Houston Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas, among other professional organizations.

Peterman received a B.B.A. in Finance in 1982 from The University of Texas-Austin and a J.D., with honors, from The University of Texas-Austin School of Law. He was admitted to practice in Texas in 1985.
