Willie Wood Selected to Join the American Board of Trial Advocates
Willie Wood, a Fulbright litigation partner in the Houston office, was invited to join the highly-selective group of American Board of Trial Advocates. To qualify for membership to ABOTA, a litigator's courtroom experience must be verified for the number of jury trials completed and personal character and honorable reputation are assessed.
Wood qualified for ABOTA's exclusive membership by having nearly twenty years of active experience as a trial lawyer and trying a substantial number of civil jury trials. Concentrating his practice on both the defense and prosecution of commercial/business, business tort and environmental/toxic tort litigation matters, with an emphasis on energy industry matters, Wood has litigated matters on behalf of domestic and foreign corporations and other entities and individuals involved in the oil and gas, refining, electric power, real estate, brokerage, insurance, banking, manufacturing, retail, waste management, construction, agriculture, and food products industries.
With significant experience practicing before state and federal district and appellate courts and bankruptcy courts, Wood has been involved in cases with both national and international scope including multi-jurisdictional litigation matters in several states and matters involving claims and occurrences arising from client operations and activities in many foreign countries. Mr. Wood has been with Fulbright for nineteen years.
