Fulbright Attorney to Chair INTA's North American Anti-Counterfeiting Committee

Fulbright trademark attorney Mark Mutterperl has been invited to chair the North American Subcommittee of the International Trademark Association's (INTA) Anti-counterfeiting And Enforcement Committee. His tenure will be for two years, beginning January, 2006.

Mutterperl is a partner in Fulbright's New York office. He practices in the areas oftrademark and anti-counterfeiting litigation. A former senior attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice and Special Assistant United States Attorney, Mutterperl has briefed and argued cases before state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels. Mutterperl also manages counterfeiting investigations and the legal aspects of trademark portfolios. He also files and prosecutes trademark applications and litigates oppositions and other contested proceedings in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

As the North American Subcommittee Chair, Mutterperl will help lead the charge to influence and educate national and local enforcement officials in anti-counterfeiting matters. Providing legal analysis and commentary, this subcommittee will engage other anti-counterfeiting associations and coalitions to identify and address governmental, economic and industrial counterfeiting issues.

INTA has more than 4,600 members from more than 180 countries dedicated to promoting fair commerce through the advancement of trademark issues.
